PERAN PELAYANAN PENDAMPINGAN BAGI LANSIA ATMABRATA CILINCING JAKARTA UTARA

This research investigates the role of mentoring in activities at the Home for Elderly Services (RPL) managed by the Atmabrata Cilincing Holy Cross Parish Foundation (YPSS), North Jakarta. This service started from 2014 to 2023, from initially only a dozen elderly people eventually growing to around two hundred being served. This brings awareness to the importance of building a house to accommodate elderly people who do not have a home and family (https://www.parokicilincing.org/karya-social-atmabrata, Thursday, 11 January 2024, at 22.14 WIB). This research method involves observation, dialogue and interviews with relevant informants. Through interviews and observations, data was obtained that in the RPL, the YPSS Atmabrata management implemented a comprehensive approach through three main aspects, namely: "a quiet soul, a soul that applies asceticism, a soul that moves in silence". At RPL they are accompanied to believe or meet the Lord Jesus personally. The Biblical basis of service at the RPL Holy Cross Parish Foundation is the teaching of Jesus "Truly, truly, I say to you, whatever you did for one of the least of My brothers, you did it for Me" (Matt. 25:40). The research method uses a descriptive qualitative approach with a case study of the Atmabrata Elderly. YPSS managers have the main role as educators, mentors, managers, as well as mediators and facilitators. The results and benefits of this research reinforce the importance of assistance services for the elderly, because apart from that they feel accepted as one family at RPL Atmabrata. Holistic services for the elderly at RPL Atmabrata have the main aim of providing assistance that strengthens their faith so that they feel calm, peaceful and ready to welcome their death.
